Unique Spots for Engagement photos in Spokane Wa

Spokane has so much beauty to offer and lots of stunning locations for unique engagement photos.

  1. South Hill - E Manito PL

South hill is probably one of my favorite locations to shoot in, in the fall. You need to just take a drive around and almost every single street will be covered in the most beautifull fall colors. These paticular photos were taken on E Manito PL, the very first street after passing Manito park on Grand. But really I think just about any street would totally give you the same vibe.

  2. Indian Painted Rocks Trailhead

Indian Painted rocks is so so beautiful in the spring. These photos were taken in May, I think any earlier, you might be dealing with some brown patches in the green grass but over all such a beautiful option for those early spring engagement photos. I have shot here in the summer and the grass does get quite long with warning signs for snakes, something to consider if ou plan your engagement photos for the summer.  No hiking is required, you park right at the trailhead and the field is just a couple steps from your car. Another thing to keep in mind that this is considered a state park, so be prepared with a discovery pass (see below for link to buy discovery pass). State parks also do require a permit to take photos. I've never had any issues with engagement photos, since you can really be quite descrite. However keep in mind if you see a ranger they might ask you about your photo permit. Overall a beautiful location with many different options for location and quite close to town.

  1. Round Lake - Bonner County, Idaho

Round lake in Idaho is about 1 hour drive outside of Spokane but it is well worth the drive. These photos were shot on a colder September day, so there were only a couple fisherman out on the docks that I ended up editing out of alot of the images (I didn't want to disturb their peaceful evening). NOTE: This is a public camp ground so plan on there being quite alot of people there in the summer months. The beach area is quite small as well, so something to consider if you plan on going there on a summer weekend. I don't believe there is a day entry fee (atleast there wasn't when I went). Overall a beautiful and peaceful location.

  2. Saltese Uplands Conservation Area

Saltese Upland Conservation Area has become a more popular spot in the last couple years for photographers. However, it is such a massive area that it wont even matter. There are so many different areas to explore, with several different pull outs. Another great thing about Saltese is that its beautiful mostly all times of year. It is just a great option for someone looking for grassy field with occassional wild flowers (depending on time of year). This spot is also great because no permits or passes required.

  3. The Now Now Space

The Now Now Space is a studio space locationed in downtown Spokane. This is such a great option for winter photos when its cold and mucky outside. They have such beautiful lighting in their space, all year around and so many great props that you're able to use when renting the space. You do have to rent the studio, about $150 for 2 hours. Keep in mind that your photographer will likely be charging you for the studio on top of their hourly rate.
